Dear families of ILO and ILO followers,

Over the last three years, we have made amazing progress toward our goal of developing supportive communities for our self-advocates. We now have over twelve (12) self-advocates living independently in the community of their choice.

To help us advance our mission and help more self-advocates move to independent living, please join us on Saturday, May 26th for a fun-raising day along the C & O Canal in Bethesda, MD, followed by a cookout at the Carderock Picnic Area. Beyond your own participation, it would be great if you can reach out to friends and family to sponsor your ride or walk including the self-advocates who are participating.

And if you can’t join us that day, please consider making a donation to ILO in support of our bikers and hikers.

Event Schedule:

9:00am
Gather at Carderock Picnic Area

9:30am
Set out on the canal towpath towards Great Falls (west) by bike or on foot.
Go as far as you want, and return to the picnic area. (Great Falls is 8 miles roundtrip)

11am-1pm
Gather for cookout at picnic area for food and celebration.

How to Participate?
You can be a rider or walker, or just hang out at Carderock with ILO families and supporters.

Registration Fees?
Each participant will pay a registration fee ($35), for which they will receive a t-shirt, food, and drink at the picnic.
