Bring light and love to the dark and cold with local artist Jonathan Ottke! Drawing inspiration from Kabakov's Ship of Tolerance, join us for our 2nd Saturday workshop where we will paint clear and translucent paper to mount on the windows, giving us a stained glass effect, and making cold and snowy February feel a little warmer and sunnier as we celebrate our differences together.

About the Artist: Jonathan Ottke lives by a lake near Washington DC, where he walks and gathers inspiration. He lived worldwide including near a chocolate factory in Waldenbuch, Germany, Washington DC, Nairobi, Kenya, and Vienna, Austria. His art is deeply affected by his travels and his training as a biologist. He sees art as a spiritual practice that is a communication, a dance even, between the creator, the universe and the viewer that allow all to become better people. His step-daughters experiences working and volunteering with disabled children was a major inspiration to him with volunteering with Art Enables. Due to their example, he decided to use his art experience and art teaching experience as a volunteer. Jonathan studied in Braunschweig, Germany and the University of Virginia. He has displayed his art at many exhibitions in the Washington, D.C. region. Click here to see more .
