The National Technical Center on Transition: the Collaborative (NTACT:C) is in the process of establishing the Youth Engagement Transition Initiative (YETI); a national youth engagement and leadership advisory group. The purpose of (YETI) is to:

Include youth voices in directing and supporting the work of NTACT:C
Honor the lived experiences of our ultimate consumers Give young people the opportunity to develop and enhance leadership skills
Allow NTACT:C to genuinely engage the perspectives of people with disabilities and be informed by those perspectives
Provide a model to state and local teams regarding effective youth engagement strategies and activities.

As an initial step in this process, NTACT:C in partnership with a core advisory group of youth/young adults is hosting an informational and outreach webinar on August 3, 2021 at 2:00 PM (ET) to discuss:

the importance of youth engagement and leadership including what is working and areas for growth
what is working in your state and/or local area regarding youth engagement and leadership
request recommendations for the names of youth and young adults who could be invited to participate in a September, 2021 youth/young adult specific virtual session.

We encourage state and local professionals who work with students, youth, and young adults to participate in this webinar.
