Summer Sports Mini Camp with Special Olympics | Tuesday, August 3 - Thursday, August 5 | 10:00 am - 12:00 pm | 600 Taylor St NE (Use entrance on John McCormack Rd NE )
Participants ages 6 -18 of all abilities are welcome at this free, drop-off event. No experience is needed. Please wear sneakers and comfortable clothing. Water and individually wrapped snacks will be provided and CDC camp guidelines will be followed. Note: If it should rain, camp will be held in the Catholic University gym. Interested? Maryland Therapeutic Riding | Sunday, August 8 | 9:00 am to 11:00 am | 1141 Sunrise Beach Rd, Crownsville, MD
Maryland Therapeutic Riding provides equine programs to help people heal physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges. Register now to spend a day with the horses! 8 spots are available for participants ages 6-21. Note: Participants must weigh less than 200 pounds. Your spot is not secured until you have completed all 3 registration forms and submitted them to kidsinaction@hschealth.org. The registration forms are available at https://tinyurl.com/mdriding2021 and are due no later than July 30. Any forms submitted after July 30 will not be accepted and the All-Star will not be allowed to participate in the event. Please review the forms as they are lengthy and require a physician's signature. CDC guidelines will be followed during the event.
Mini Outdoor Adaptive Sports Camp | Tuesday, August 10 - Thursday, August 12 | 9:00 am - 12:00 pm | 1771 Tucker Rd, Fort Washington, MD
MedStar NRH Adaptive Sports and Fitness Program, in partnership with HSC's Kids in Action Progam, invites youth ages 6-18 with a physical disability (i.e., spinal cord injury, spina bifida, amputation, cerebral palsy, dwarfism, or any other orthopedic or neuromuscular impairment) to participate in a variety of adaptive sports. Activities will include wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis, adaptive fitness, cycling, bocce ball, crafts, and more! No sports experience is needed and equipment will be provided. Note: Campers must be able to propel a manual wheelchair and do not need to use a chair for daily living to attend. CDC guidelines will be followed for this event.
