This year, SchoolTalk’s 12th annual Voices of Change program is a creative competitive experience and it continues today at 5:30pm! Tune in to watch on SchoolTalk’s Instagram page and on YouTube. Please note: In streamlining our broadcasting process, we’ve updated to a new YouTube link.

Eight school teams will square off throughout this week and compete with original spoken word pieces with the theme, “The Day After Tomorrow.” Participating schools are Ballou SHS, Capital City PCS, Duke Ellington School of the Arts, Dunbar SHS, EL Haynes PCS, HD Woodson SHS, River Terrace Education Campus, & Roosevelt SHS.

Competition Schedule

Round #1:

Monday, May 17 (5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.)
Woodson, Ballou, EL Haynes PCS, & Roosevelt

Tuesday, May 18 (5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.)
River Terrace Education Campus, Dunbar, Capital City PCS, & Duke Ellington

Wednesday, May 19 (5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.)
Woodson, Duke Ellington, Ballou, & Capital City PCS

Thursday, May 20 (5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.)
EL Haynes PCS, Dunbar, Roosevelt, & River Terrace Education Campus

Round #2: Final four teams compete for a place in the Finals

Monday, June 14 (5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.)

Round #3: FINALS

Wednesday, June 16 (3 p.m. - 4 p.m.)
