The 5th Annual DC3C Next Steps Career Exploration Conference will take place virtually between March 17 and April 16. Next Steps, a free career exploration conference, prepares DC students with disabilities for life after high school by increasing student awareness about career options. Over the course of 10 sessions from 4-5 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays, DC students will have the opportunity to hear from career professionals in various industries, including medicine, culinary arts, and information technology. In each session, students will have the chance to ask questions about a typical day and the presenter’s career journey.

DC high school students with disabilities who have either an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or 504 plan and their families are welcome to attend this free, virtual conference to learn about future careers. To attend, students must be affiliated with the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) as a pre-ETS referral or as a client.

DC3C is also recruiting volunteers to participate in the conference in the following industries:

  • Medical;
  • Information/Technology;
  • Sports & Leisure;
  • Construction;
  • Art/Design/Performance;
  • Hospitality/Tourism; and
  • Culinary Arts.

Pre-registration is required and all details, including volunteer registration information, are available at https://specialedcoop.org/programs/dc3c/ns21/. Students can register at any point during the duration of the conference.
